Master Sergeant Michael Jaramillo was born in Atlanta, Georgia. He joined the Army in 2006 and attended One Station Unit Training (OSUT) at Fort Moore, GA to be an Infantryman.
MSG Jaramillo’s most significant assignments include serving as a Senior Military Science Instructor at the University of Central Florida, First Sergeant and Platoon Sergeant of A Co, 1-21 IN, Senior Drill Sergeant, Drill Sergeant, Brigade Battle NCO, Weapons Squad Leader, Squad Leader, Assistant Machine Gunner, Scout RTO, and Automatic Rifleman. He has deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.
During his career, MSG Jaramillo has been assigned to the following units: 3rd Squadron, 2nd Calvary Regiment at Vilseck Germany, 1st Battalion, 509th ABN IN at FT Polk Louisiana, 1st Battalion, 503rd ABN IN, in Camp Ederle, Italy, 2nd Battalion, 58th IN at Fort Moore, GA, First Sergeant and Platoon Sergeant for 1st Battalion, 21st IN at Schofield Barracks HI.
MSG Jaramillo’s military and civilian education includes the US Army Airborne School, Combatives Level 1, Combat Life Savers Course, Basic Leaders Course, Unit Prevention Leader, Advance Leaders Course, Battle Staff, Sexual Harassment Assault Response Prevention (SHARP) Course, Army Retention Course, Drill Sergeant School, Senior Leaders Course, Master Marksmanship Trainers Course, Master Leaders Course and his Jungle Tab. MSG Jaramillo has an Associate Degree in Small Group Management, Bachelor of Science in Liberal Studies, and he is currently working towards his Master’s Degree in Education. MSG Jaramillo was selected as Drill Sergeant of the cycle (3 times). He was awarded the Order of Saint Maurice (Legionnaire).
